Primarily Johnstown and Inclined Plane locations. Provides maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspections and general repair, including custodial, to the buildings and grounds of all Authority properties, as assigned. Responsible for assisting in providing maintenance and repairs to the Inclined Plane. Work must be completed in a safe, timely and quality-conscious manner. Acts as the back-up to provide training for all Operators on the operation of the Inclined Plane and the start-up / shut-down procedures of the Inclined Plane in a safe and timely manner. Monitors and ensure compliance with all safety guidelines. Assists with directly supporting the rules and procedures for compliance as outlined in the PA Rail and Transit System Safety Plan and the Incline Hazard and Security Plan.
- Minimum of a high school education is required, with preference to those with a vocational education.
- A minimum of two (2) years of related maintenance experience.
- Sound knowledge and experience in the use of power equipment and hand tools.
- Basic working knowledge of electrical, ventilation, HVAC and plumbing practices.
- A valid current PA driver’s license is required.
- This is a safety sensitive position subject to US DOT Drug and Alcohol pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing.
- Must complete at least eighty (80) hours of training and become certified to operate the Inclined Plane.
- Starting Wage Range: $17.00-$18.00/hour dependent on experience
