Fixed-route
buses operate on a fixed time stopping at specific bus
stops along the way. Bus stops are numbered and list the
different bus routes that stop there. Buses stop only at
these signs.
Try to
arrive at the bus stop about 5 minutes before your bus is
scheduled to arrive.
When
waiting at a bus stop, be sure you are visible to the bus
driver when the bus approaches. Be sure to stand and move
forward if sitting in a shelter
Prior
to getting on the bus, wait for the bus to come to a
complete stop, the door to open fully, and de-boarding
passengers to leave the bus, then board
immediately.
Have
the exact fare, pass, ticket, or transfer ready when
getting on the bus. The farebox will accept dollar bills.
A change card can be given. Operators do not carry change
or handle cash.
Take a
seat as soon as possible and do not change seats once
seated. Allow people in wheelchairs to board
first.
If you
must stand, hold on to the railings or seat backs. Always
stand behind the yellow line in the
bus.
Stay
clear of the doorways and stairwell and never put arms,
hands, or head outside windows.
Please
give front designated seats to seniors and disabled
passengers.
If you
have questions while you are on the bus, the bus drivers
will gladly help, but try not to distract the operators
while the bus is in motion.
To
signal your stop, press the "stop requested" yellow strip
or pull the bell cord about half a block before you want
to get off the bus. Be sure to look around so you don't
leave anything behind.
Please
remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.
Exit via the rear door whenever possible. For your own
safety and the safety of those behind you, hold on to the
door handles until you clear the door and move away from
the bus as soon as possible.
If you
need to transfer from one route to another you will need
a transfer slip. Ask your driver for a transfer when you
pay. Transfers are valid for 2 hours. If you need to
transfer more than one time you must pay another full
fare. Transfers can not be used for a return trip on the
same route.
If you
would like assistance in learning how to ride the bus,
call us and we will be happy to assist or accompany
you.
If you
need any medical or other assistance while riding the
bus, the operator can use the two-way radio to get help
immediately (police, ambulance,
etc.).
If a
driver sees that a young person needs help or is asked
for help by a child or teenager, they will gladly
assist.
